Watery Summer Memories

Frye Cove, Olympia, Washington

How beautiful the Pacific Northwest is.

Last summer, I had quite a few chances to spend evenings "out on the water," thanks to a friend's move to a waterfront home.

She and I also did some exploring of the surrounding coves, bays, and inlets.

I even went out on a sailboat for the first time in ages, and learned how to passably paddle in a canoe.

I suppose if I had stayed in Olympia, Washington, the water would be a big part of my life.

Now, it's just an occasional, summery feature -- one that, for some reason, I'm missing today.

  1. Besides family, the waters of Puget Sound are one thing I truly miss about that area.
